The increase in import tariffs on solar panels and power generation cuts imposed by the National Electric System Operator (ONS) have posed significant challenges to the solar energy sector. Ivana Cota, an attorney at Ciari Moreira Advogados, analyzed the obstacles faced by companies in the industry in an article for NeoFeed.
According to Ivana, although companies may seek a judicial solution, the outlook is complicated by the cautious stance of Brazilian case law when it comes to holding the government accountable. In her view, “a political or administrative solution may be more feasible in the medium term.”
